Our center, one of the first practice-based research centers in the U.S., continues to conduct many research studies each year. These studies not only contribute to the body of scientific literature, they also benefit our patients involved in the studies by providing care at a reduced fee.

Teaching

Drs. McGuire and Scheyer are regularly asked by their peers to lecture on esthetics, regenerative procedures, dental implants, tissue engineering, and the link between periodontal disease and systemic health. Both doctors hold teaching positions at the graduate and post-graduate levels, have been published in peer-reviewed journals and textbooks, and often conduct teaching sessions for colleagues at their office and around the world.

Certification

Drs. McGuire and Scheyer are Diplomates of the American Board of Periodontology, an honor that only one-third of the periodontists in the United States earn. They both have served in leadership positions their entire career and continue to do so.

Drs. McGuire and Scheyer are leaders in the field of periodontics and implant dentistry. They lecture all over the world on advanced technologies related to cosmetic dental procedures, periodontics and dental implants.

Drs. McGuire and Scheyer are also certified by the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners to administer conscious sedation, and are certified by the American Heart Association in life support. They provide excellent pain and anxiety control with conscious sedation to make your dental experience more relaxing and comfortable.
